Melinau Gorge Trek

Duration - 3 Days/2 Nights

Day 1

In the morning, proceed upriver from Mulu to Long Litut which is about a 1 hour boat trip away. Stop for lunch. Begin trekking for 2.5 to 3 hours to Camp 5 through a lowland primary jungle of mixed dipterocarp and riparian forest. Overnight at Camp 5. (Lunch and Dinner included)

Day 2

After breakfast, hike on the Headhunter's Trail. Return to Camp 5 for lunch. Proceed to the Melinau Gorge, an hour away, in the afternoon. This trek is not advisable during bad weather due to flash flooding. Overnight Camp 5. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner included)

Day 3

Depart Camp 5. Trek back to Long Litut. Proceed down stream to the Wind Cave and Clearwater Cave. After lunch, transfer to Mulu airport for your flight to Miri or Kota Kinabalu (depending on flight schedules). (Breakfast, and Lunch included)

Bring your own thin sleeping bags & inflatable mattress (it is not that cold but quite chilly at dawn and the early morning period)

# Camp 5 has basic dormitory style accommodation and toilet facilities. All lights are powered by solar energy.
