Mt Gading National Park and Semengoh

Gunung Gading National Park is located in the Lundu district and is about a 2 hour drive from Kuching. The Park was gazetted in 1983 and is home to the world's largest flower, the Rafflesia. Along the way, you will make a stop at the Semengoh Wildlife Centre, a temporary home for various endangered wildlife of Sarawak especially orang-utans that were either orphaned or rescued from captivity. Here, they are trained to survive in the wild. Semengoh also has a small forest reserve with a board walk through dipterocarp rainforest.

Stops will also be made along the way to Mt Gading, to view orchids and pitcher plants including a visit to a pepper farm. Upon arrival at the park, proceed for an hour of jungle trekking along the board walk trail in search of the Rafflesia bloom, the largest flower in the world. Relax or swim at a picnic spot located beside a beautiful stream before departing for Pandan Beach, 15 minutes away.

Return to Kuching in the late afternoon. (Lunch included)

Please note that the Rafflesia Flower at Gunung Gading National Park only blooms occasionally
