Shangri-la's Rasa Ria Resort
This resort lies cradled between forested hills and a long sweep of a 3 km long, untouched, pristine beach, washed by the South China Sea. Rasa Ria Resort is set on Pantai Dalit beach and surrounded by 175 hectares of lush tropical vegetation including a unique nature reserve. Here you can meet Sabah's icon, the orang-utan, amidst a remarkable array of indigenous flora and fauna, including over 100 species of beautiful Borneo orchids and the rare and strange pitcher plant. Surprising encounters with hornbills gliding directly overhead, peacocks displaying during breakfast, a bear cat greeting you from a tree or the occasional free-roaming rabbit, iguana or squirrel crossing your path are all part of the magic of this remarkable resort.

Renovations Under Way
Rasa Ria Resort is renovating.Phase 1 of the works will run from the beginning of March to the end of June 2011.
Phase 2 of the work is scheduled to take place from 01 September through to the end of February 2012.
Works are planned for the upgrading of the Garden Wing Rooms. The improvement will involve the guest rooms in two separate phases. The Resort will continue to operate as usual with uninterrupted service and it will not affect the existing resort activities, amenities and facilities.
The work has been planned to minimise the disturbance to guests, by keeping work areas well away from occupied rooms and every care will be taken to ensure the comfort of guests.
During the period, we are able to offer guests some small incentives when staying a minimum of 3 nights in the Garden wing (Superior Rainforest view room, Deluxe Garden and Deluxe Sea view room)
Guests staying in the Ocean Wing - Premier Room, and Suites for any duration will also qualify for the incentives.

Guest Rooms
Most of the 330 rooms afford a splendid view of the sea, garden and beach. Beautifully furnished in restful earth colours and natural wood, each guestroom is a compliment to the casually luxurious ambience at Rasa Ria.
All ground floor rooms have private lanais accessible through verdant, landscaped gardens. The rest are split-level with private balconies equipped with various modern amenities, from air-conditioning to in-house movies.
