TEMBURONG LIFESTYLE - Half Day Tour
Tour Code TMB-HDB This tour is
a short introduction to Temburong, with its unique Brunei blend of traditional
lifestyle with modem facilities and the protected rainforest.
Water taxi
|
Take a local
water taxi from Bandar (departing the Residency Jetty at 09.45 hrs),
through a network of narrow channels and rivers, with the opportunity to see
mangrove islands and wildlife.
At Bangar
town visit the local produce markets before departing by vehicle to the rural
areas. Your guide will outline the traditional
practices and features.
Visit the
Agricultural Centre for a gentle walk through this area planted with an array of
Brunei’s traditional forest fruit trees. Your guide
will explain how these are used in cooking and daily consumption.
Return to Bangar
restaurant for lunch. Enjoy some local foods in air-conditioned
surroundings; taking a break from the tropical heat.
The
afternoon longhouse visit is an introduction to the traditional accommodation
that is still used by many Temburong communities; with modern
adaptations. Meet some of the people and see their homes.
Visit the
Batang Duri mini zoo. Be introduced to some of the secretive rainforest animals.
Return to
Bangar restaurant for afternoon tea of local cakes,
and shopping for handicrafts if time permits. Then join the boat back to Bandar Seri
Begawan - arriving at approximately 15.45 hrs.
