ULU TEMBURONG
NATIONAL PARK - Full Day tour

This is a
mildly adventurous immersion into Borneo’s best-preserved wilderness rainforest.
Ulu Temburong National Park is protected for the benefit of it’s unique
wildlife, scientific research and low impact visitors.
There are no
roads, access is by boat and walkways.
The trip departs Bandar from
the Jalan Residencey jetty at 08.00 hrs, arriving at Bangar Lodge at
approximately 08.30 hrs; and arrives back in Bandar Seri Begawan at around 16.15
hrs
This day
tour will introduce you to this amazing environment with walks, fun
river travel, local foods, and spectacular views. Travel by boat from Bandar via
a network of waterways. Look for wildlife as you pass mangrove islands on route
to Bangar, Temburong.
Walk through
the Bangar town and stop at a traditional local restaurant for morning tea, and equipment issue. Vehicle transfer to Batang Duri longhouse.
Longboat on the River

The journey
continues in longboats, upstream through the
Temburong River rapids. You will notice the changing vegetation, the size of trees, and
the narrowing river as your move deeper into the jungle. Watch for Hornbills,
butterflies, Proboscis
Monkeys, Macaques and other wildlife. See Durian and other fruiting trees.
Canopy Walkway

At Ulu
Temburong National Park, explore along the network of elevated walkways as our
guide explains the area. Cross the Suspension Bridge, and climb the Canopy
Walkway to be above the trees. Continue further upstream in the longboat to a
short waterfall walk if time and river levels permit. Enjoy a great lunch of
local specialities beside the river, buffet style. Stroll, relax, or swim.
Return by longboat to Batang Duri
and transfer to Bangar
Lodge.
Afternoon tea in
the
air-conditioned
dining room. Explore the handicraft shops if time allows, and freshen up before taking the
water taxi back to Bandar Seri Begawan.
